The Caribbean Women in Meteorology and Hydrology (CWMH) Network
Goals:
The Caribbean Women in Meteorology and Hydrology (CWMH) network in proposed to introduce some of the Geneva Conference recommendations. The main focus would be exchange of information, education and support. Most important will be the emphasis on regionally education and mentoring programs among the women in the field.

First WMO Conference on Women in Meteorology and Hydrology :
Bangkok, December 1997
The International Expert Meeting on the Participation of Women in Meteorology and Hydrology was held at the Headquarters of the Thai Meteorological Department from 15 to 19 December 1997. The objectives of the meeting included: encouraging women to choose meteorology, climatology or hydrology as a career, increasing the participation of womon meteorologists and hydrologists in the programmes and activites of the constituent bodies of WMO, and encouraging the creaction of equal opportunites for women to attain senior positions in their chosen fields.

SIDS Caribbean Project
The Project for the “Preparedness to Climate Variability and Global Change in Small Islands States, Caribbean Region” (SIDS Caribbean Project) has been a primary spensor and a supporter of gender issues in the field of Meteorology and Hydrology in the Caribbean. Under the 'Training and Awareness building' component of the SIDS Caribbean project provided support for Caribbean participants to the Geneva conference.
